Birthday of who’s Mama? And who is the Mama?
Today, September 8, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Mary’s Birth. We, Catholics, indeed celebrate our Blessed Mother’s birthday and we give her gifts of love and sing songs of gratitude and joy. It is just fitting and right that we call her “Mama.” Our Lord gave her to us as our Mother, and she continues to Mother us all whether we are aware of it or not. Even those who do not know her or who are against her are numbered among her dear children. Her heart reaches out to them, gathers them under her mantle, and draws them closer to Jesus.
Let us honor her and sing to her. Just as in a family, a mother keeps the family together, so is our Blessed Mother. She keeps all of us together and leads us to her Son, our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR MAMA MARY!
WE LOVE YOU!
THANK YOU FOR MOTHERING US AND FOR DRAWING US CLOSE TO JESUS!
